Role Description This is a full-time Solicitor role based in Dewsbury with a hybrid working arrangement, allowing some work from home. The Solicitor will manage a varied caseload, providing clear legal advice across relevant practice areas, preparing and reviewing legal documents, and progressing matters from instruction to completion. Day-to-day responsibilities include meeting and advising clients, drafting contracts and agreements, handling correspondence, and representing clients in negotiations or, where appropriate, at hearings. The role involves close collaboration with colleagues, adherence to regulatory and firm-specific compliance standards, and proactive file management to deliver timely, high-quality service. The Solicitor will also contribute to business development, maintain accurate records, and support continuous improvement in client service.
Qualifications
- Strong grounding in general Law, with the ability to interpret and apply legislation and case law to client matters.
- Demonstrable experience in Conveyancing, including residential and, where possible, commercial property transactions.
- Knowledge of Labor and Employment Law, enabling support on workplace-related advice and disputes.
- Experience in Commercial Real Estate, including leases, acquisitions, disposals, and property-related commercial agreements.
- Competence in Family Law, including matters such as relationship breakdown, financial arrangements, and children-related issues.
- Qualified Solicitor (or equivalent) with current practising certificate and experience in a law firm or in-house legal environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex issues clearly and sensitively.
- Strong client care skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage a diverse caseload with minimal supervision.
- Comfort with hybrid working, good time management, and proficiency in using legal and office IT systems.
- Commitment to ethical practice, regulatory compliance, and ongoing professional development.
