We're looking for a dedicated Civil Solicitor to join our team in Sydney. As part of our firm, you will be responsible for:
- Client management
- Providing expert advice on intentional tort claims, such as those related to assault, battery, unlawful detention, excessive force, malicious prosecution
- Demonstrable experience with matters involving personal injury and compensation
- Liaising with Counsel
- Preparing legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and affidavits.
- Ensuring deadlines are met
- Working closely with senior solicitors, associate solicitors and paralegals
About You
- A qualified solicitor with experience in Civil litigation (3-5 Years PQE)
- Experience working with groups and individuals who experience disadvantage
- Strong communication and advocacy skills
- The ability and inclination to take initiative
- Be resilient (as you will be dealing with sensitive and confronting material)
- Ability to manage a varied caseload with attention to detail and deadlines
- Ability to dissect complex legal issues and apply them to real life scenarios
- Be respectful, non-judgemental and exhibit a trauma informed approach to client management
- Collaborative team player with a passion for client service and legal excellence
- NSW practicing certificate is required
- Australian citizenship or permanent residency is required for this position
