Position Overview
Hill HR is seeking an experienced Settlement Attorney who can bring their expertise and established client relationships to this growing team. This role offers an excellent opportunity for a motivated legal professional looking to join a respected organization in the D.C. real estate market.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct real estate settlements/closings for residential and commercial transactions
Review title searches, surveys, and other documentation for potential issues
Prepare and review closing documents including HUDs, CDs, deeds, and affidavits
Resolve title issues and ensure compliance with lender requirements
Maintain and leverage existing client relationships to grow the business
Coordinate with all parties involved in transactions to ensure smooth closings
Stay current on relevant laws and regulations affecting real estate transactions
Qualifications
J.D. degree and active license to practice law in D.C. and/or Maryland/Virginia
Minimum 3-5 years of experience in real estate law, with specific settlement/closing experience
Established client relationships with real estate agents, lenders, or other referral sources
Strong understanding of title insurance underwriting guidelines
Excellent communication and client service skills
Detail-oriented with strong organizational abilities
Ability to handle multiple transactions simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
