JRE Injury Law is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Personal Injury Reductions & Liens Assistant to join our team. This is a great opportunity for someone who is organized, comfortable communicating with medical providers and insurance companies, and interested in learning more about the personal injury settlement process.
This position will primarily assist with medical bill reductions, liens, and settlement-related tasks. Prior personal injury experience is preferred but not required. We are willing to train the right candidate who is dependable, eager to learn, and comfortable developing negotiation skills.
Responsibilities
- Request and negotiate reductions of medical bills and outstanding balances with medical providers
- Identify, track, and assist with resolving medical liens and other reimbursement claims
- Communicate with medical providers, lienholders, insurance companies, and other parties regarding balances and reductions
- Maintain accurate documentation of reduction requests, offers, negotiations, and final balances
- Follow up consistently on pending reductions and liens to help move cases toward final disbursement
- Review case files for outstanding balances, liens, or other items that need to be addressed before settlement
- Assist with settlement breakdowns and related documentation
- Work closely with attorneys, case managers, and the settlement team
- Learn how to communicate and negotiate with insurance carriers regarding personal injury claims
- Assist with insurance negotiations as experience and knowledge develop
- Perform other administrative and case-related duties as needed
Ideal Candidate
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Comfortable making phone calls and following up consistently
- Professional written and verbal communication skills
- Able to manage multiple files and deadlines at once
- Comfortable discussing balances and negotiating reductions
- Willing and eager to learn personal injury claims and insurance negotiation
- Able to work independently while also being part of a team
- Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus
- Personal injury, medical billing, insurance, collections, or legal office experience is a plus, but not required
Pay: $20.00 – $24.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40.0 per week
