Mid-Level to Senior Level Public Relations Professional – LEGAL
newsPRos, a national public relations agency, is adding to its team of professionals. We primarily, but not exclusively, provide media relations services to the legal industry. All of our work is focused on issues, not on consumer products.
The position requires pitching of reporters with the expectation of producing high quality placements for our clients at top-tier mainstream media, industry trades, business publications and network, cable and local TV and radio. We’re a team-centered organization, and we spend our time in-the-trenches talking to reporters, editors and producers. Experience in the legal industry is definitely a plus, although not a requirement. We deal with a broad range of business/legal issues including healthcare, energy, education, environment, tax, employment, insurance, technology, lobbying, M&A, among many others.
While the position is remote it requires significant client contact via phone and zoom and potentially some limited travel to clients’ offices.
We are looking for a professional with at least 10 years of experience doing the following
· Developing pitches
· Monitoring the news, legislation, regulatory developments, both federal and state, in multiple industry sectors
· Maintaining relationships with reporters, editors, producers
· Researching and building targeted media lists, quickly
· Pitching reporters at top-tier media outlets
· Maintaining workflow and follow-up on multiple projects simultaneously without dropping the ball
· Drafting written materials including press releases, talking points, media statements and surveys and nominations
· Maintaining personal administrative work, time, client activity reports, etc.
We are a collegial team that works closely together and we are true partners with our clients. We have great clients and long-lasting relationships with them. The position is about client management and getting the results the clients expect. We bring our A game every day. The position is remote, but the following cities are desirable – Washington, DC, Chicago, New York, Los Angeles or Miami. The salary range is $80K to $150K depending on experience and credentials.
