Overview
The law firm of Kondori & Moorad, LLP is looking to add an associate attorney to their growing firm, wherein candidates shall have experience in fiduciary matters related to elder law (guardianships, conservatorships, and/or guardian ad litem work) as well as estates and trusts administration.
We are pursuing applicants that have had prior experience in matters related to incapacitated persons, probate administration, family law, health law, wealth and asset protection, and/or estate planning, either as an attorney or law clerk with a private law firm, governmental agency, financial institution, and/or healthcare facility.
Responsibilities
Initiating intake measures with appropriate clients or third parties, either telephonically, electronically, or in-person;
Collaborating and serving as a liaison between the Firm and healthcare facilities and financial institutions to ensure appropriate healthcare and financial management of wards and clients;
Performing research and reconciliation on relevant and appropriate legal and financial documents in a timely manner
Drafting and reviewing various legal, financial and/or administrative documentation related to matters in the field of guardianships, conservatorships, guardians ad litem, estate planning, trusts, and/or probate administration, including, but not limited to, preparation of wills, trusts, powers of attorney, petitions, inventories, accountings, and tax-related documents
Establishing appropriate financial and asset-protection legal strategies for clients;
Attending, participating, and/or providing support in hearings and court proceedings, including preparing petitions and motions, for fiduciary-related matters;
Developing appropriate and effective legal strategies through a multi-disciplined approach through the understanding and application of elder law, business organizations, real estate transactions, family law, and wills, trusts, and estates.
Serving, as needed, as a fiduciary on matters, either as a guardian, conservator, and/or guardian ad litem;
Navigating through issues pertaining to Medicaid, Medicare, and Social Security, as well as retirement, pension, and burial-related matters for incapacitated persons;
Filing appropriate documentation with the Courts of legal jurisdiction, the local Commissioners of Accounts, governmental agencies and municipalities, and/or financial institutions; and
Promoting elder law and fiduciary practice locally, regionally, and nationally, on behalf of the Firm as a tool for both recruitment and education of the legal field in the community.
