A highly respected national professional services organization is seeking a Senior Public Relations Manager to lead strategic communications, media relations, and public relations initiatives across the firm nationally. This is a high-visibility leadership role partnering directly with executive leadership, marketing leadership, and key stakeholders across the organization.
We’re looking for a polished, strategic communications leader who thrives in a fast-paced, high-performing environment and brings deep experience supporting sophisticated professional services organizations — ideally within an Am Law or large law firm setting.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Develop and execute firmwide public relations and communications strategies aligned with organizational growth initiatives
- Partner closely with executive leadership, marketing leadership, and practice/industry leaders to drive strategic messaging and visibility
- Manage outside PR agencies and media partners to maximize ROI, thought leadership opportunities, and tier-1 media placements
- Lead media relations efforts, including proactive pitching, interview coordination, and reputation management
- Oversee press releases, award submissions, rankings, surveys, announcements, and executive communications
- Manage and mentor an internal communications and social media team
- Build and maintain editorial calendars aligned with firmwide and market-specific priorities
- Provide media coaching and communications guidance to senior leadership and subject matter experts
- Support crisis communications strategy and response initiatives when needed
- Create reporting and analytics around media placements, awards, visibility, and PR performance metrics
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and communications innovation across the organization
What We’re Looking For
- 10+ years of public relations and communications experience
- Previous management or team leadership experience
- Strong background within an Am Law, large law firm, or highly sophisticated professional services environment strongly preferred
- Exceptional writing, editing, and verbal communication skills
- Experience managing executive communications and high-profile media interactions
- Strong business acumen and ability to align PR strategy with organizational objectives
- Experience with media monitoring/tracking tools such as Meltwater, Trendkite, or similar platforms
- Proven ability to manage multiple high-priority projects in a fast-paced environment
- Strong presentation, project management, and stakeholder management skills
- Comfortable operating as both a strategic leader and hands-on contributor
- Tech-savvy and AI-curious mindset preferred
