Salary range: $131,450.00-$151,167.50 per year, commensurate with experience
Who You Are
The Contract Manager is accountable for all contract management activities and overseeing the lifecycle of contracts. The role works collaboratively with the Executive team, other members of the Management team, and legal counsel to ensure contract management activities align with the company’s mission, strategic goals, priorities, and regulatory requirements.
What You’ll Do
Develop and execute Healthy Alliance’s contracting strategy and roadmap.
Manage all contracting-related vendors and resources.
Develop, execute, and enforce contract management policies, procedures, and practices, ensuring all are aligned with regulatory requirements and company policies.
Collaborate with the Compliance Officer, VP of Program Administration and Governance, and legal counsel on the development of contract templates.
Direct the contract lifecycle, including contract proposals, negotiation, preparation, execution, ongoing monitoring and management, and renewals and terminations of contracts in collaboration with legal counsel, the Compliance Officer, and appropriate business owners. Scope of contracting includes, but is not limited to, contractors, consultants, vendors, service providers, network providers (health care providers, behavioral health providers, community-based organizations, etc.), managed care organizations, and other strategic partners.
Ensure contract negotiations are completed in accordance with critical dates and result in competitive, cost-effective agreements that align with approved financial parameters/budgets.
Ensure consistent and regular communication of contracting key metrics and statuses to Healthy Alliance’s Management team.
Support the Compliance Officer with internal and external contract audits.
Ensure timely and effective communication with all stakeholders throughout the contracting lifecycle, including the preparation of reports and dashboards.
Ensure the successful handoff and a seamless transition of executed contracts to the Implementation team.
Ensure all contracts are tracked and maintained centrally (in Healthy Alliance’s designated contract repository system) in a secure manner, containing all necessary information, documentation, and statuses.
Provide consultative input from the contracting perspective on potential business opportunities.
Stay abreast of the contracting environment, competitors, and business needs to continually improve the contracting process and proactively identify/anticipate the need for contract changes and/or new contracts.
Maintain excellent working relationships cross-functionally within the organization, with legal counsel, and with external stakeholders and contracted entities to ensure their needs are met and relationships are sustained.
Develop and execute the Contracting team staffing plan, including contracted resources.
Direct all activities of the Contracting team, including assignment and prioritization of work.
Manage recruiting/hiring, onboarding, performance management, and mentorship of the Contracting team, including direct supervision of Contracting Specialists and future positions as they are identified.

Requirements:
What You’ll Need
Education
Bachelor’s degree in business or a related field. A combination of education, training, experience, or certification may be considered in lieu of degree requirements.
Professional Work Experience
Ten (10) years of progressive experience in the contract management field, preferably within the health care industry and inclusive of contracting with vendors, providers, and managed care organizations.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Excellent interpersonal and negotiating skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to give presentations and communicate in a clear and concise manner.
Fluent in contract terminology and processes with the ability to explain contract terms to business in a non-legal way.
Experience with health care regulations, including government programs and HIPAA.
Experience with multiple reimbursement methods, including fee schedules, per member per month (PMPM), and Value Based Payments (VBP).
Strong attention to detail.
Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities and deadlines.
Strong proficiency in common programs used in the contracting process (e.g. Word, GetAccept, HubSpot or another CRM, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
Experience managing and mentoring teams, including building teams, growing teams, and providing team members with opportunities for improvement and professional growth.
Ability to work both independently and part of a team.
Ability to work with remote work teams in a hybrid work environment.
Demonstrate emotional intelligence and ability to work through ambiguity and frequent change as an expected part of a start-up culture. Approaches challenging tasks with a “can-do” attitude.
