Responsibilities:

Legal Case Management: Oversee the preparation, filing, and management of all legal documents related to ongoing litigation cases.

Legal Research: Conduct legal research to understand case law, statutes, and regulations that pertain to active cases.

Drafting Legal Documents: Draft pleadings, motions, subpoenas, and other necessary legal documents.

Client Communication: Communicate with internal clients or external parties regarding the status of litigation and legal options.

Case Strategy Development: Work with senior legal counsel or external attorneys to develop and implement case strategies.

Compliance and Risk Management: Ensure all litigation actions are compliant with relevant laws and regulations, managing associated risks.

Evidence Gathering: Coordinate the gathering of evidence, including witness statements, documents, and expert opinions.

Settlement Negotiation: Assist in negotiating settlements when applicable, aiming for the best possible outcomes for the organization.

Monitoring Legal Changes: Stay updated on changes to relevant laws, policies, and procedures that could impact ongoing cases.

Skills and Qualifications:

Education: A degree in Law (LL.B or equivalent) is required. A master’s degree or certification in a related field (such as a legal practice course) may be an advantage.

Experience: Typically requires at least 3–5 years of experience in litigation, legal advisory, or a related field.

Strong Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze complex legal information and apply it to specific cases.

Attention to Detail: Accuracy in legal drafting and understanding case details.

Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills for drafting legal documents and interacting with clients, attorneys, and courts.

Problem-Solving: Ability to develop strategies and solutions for handling legal issues effectively.

Negotiation Skills: Capability to negotiate settlements or agreements outside of court, aiming to resolve disputes efficiently.

Organizational Skills: Ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously and meet deadlines under pressure.

IT Proficiency: Familiarity with legal research tools, case management software, and MS Office Suite.

Personal Traits:

Strong ethical standards and a commitment to confidentiality.

Ability to work independently or as part of a team.

Comfortable handling high-pressure situations and tight deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications:

Certification from a professional legal body or association
