Full Salary Range

Step 1 $3,468.15 Step 2 $3,677.27 Step 3 $3,899.40

Step 4 $4,133.20 Step 5 $4,378.70

Hiring Range: $3,468.15 – $3,899.40 per month DOQ

JOB SUMMARY:

As directed by the County Clerk or in their absence, the Chief Deputy Clerk, this person shall perform those duties necessary to ensure daily operation of the Superior Court and is responsible for making operating decisions. Works cooperatively and effectively with the public and other employees.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: None

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.
Responsible for scanning and filing of all documents received.
Responsible for computer entry and accuracy of documents received.
Responsible for monetary transactions from Superior Court proceedings.
Responsible for the “close” of each day’s financial transactions.
Assist with domestic violence, anti-harassment, and passport form processing.
Assist with daily correspondence originating from the Clerk’s Office.
Assist with appeals, transfers, remands, and changes of venue.
Responsible for the jury processing, from the start to finish of the term.
Monitor audio recorder and draft minutes during court proceedings.
Remain neutral in all proceedings.
Prepare minutes and enter hearing codes on the computer.
Prepare calendars for law days for postings and distribution.
Mark and maintain exhibits, returning them after appropriate waiting period.
Provide assistance to public and other employees.
Perform miscellaneous duties as they arise and are assigned by the Clerk.
Provide backup for Chief Deputy Clerk and Deputy Court Clerk.

KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES:

High school diploma or equivalent.
Ability to read, speak and write the English language.
Proficient with MS Office Word, Outlook and Excel, and familiar with data entry.
Must type 45 wpm
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and security of information.
Good public relations including ability to handle stressful situations.
Ability to work accurately and independently with minimum supervision.
Organizational skills required.
Ability to lift books weighing up to 50 pounds and climb ladders.
JIS and SCOMIS experience preferred.

LICENSES AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

1. Valid driver’s license required

2. Must successfully pass a background and a driving record check.

3. Must be bondable to handle money.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT / PHYSICAL ABILITIES: Work is performed in an office setting with periods of standing, sitting and kneeling. This position also requires good listening skills and occasional lifting of up to 30 pounds. Regular and punctual attendance is required. Because of the nature of this position, duties must be performed during regular hours within the department (no telecommuting).
