Overview:
This position is responsible for supporting the Logistics Team by acting as an expert in shipping subject matter and is the TMS administrator. This position manages shipping movements and processes throughout the Ajinomoto Food North America, Inc. (AFNA) distribution network, which includes tendering freight to customers, the TMS (Transportation Mgmt. System) administrator and supports Corporate Logistics and other internal departments as required.
Responsibilities:
Coordinate with Customer Service, third party Warehouses and Carriers to ensure timely pick-ups and delivery of products.
Ensure On Time delivery (OTD).
Effectively communicate on any issues and as needed via verbally, e-mail, skype, teams, or telephone.
Coordinate Ajinomoto Private Fleet / 3PL’s for customer deliveries.
Use the following systems/applications; JD Edwards/Oracle based TMS and Microsoft Office Suite
Cross train personnel and back-fill for vacations or absences
Assist with carrier related issues and other ad hoc requests
Create and tender all loads to carriers.
Assist the AFNA Logistics Team in transportation cost savings.
Assist in auditing freight payables for accuracy against contracted rates.
Participate/Learn through company-sponsored training/webinars.
Assist with correcting errors related to TMS and ensures carrier invoices are processed on-time and accurately.
Freight handling code incorrect, no-load charges, order is missing from load, no dates, rate incorrect in TMS route guide, carrier no assigned, no lot#
Process EDI (Lineage and carrier) invoices.
Getting more in depth on more errors and continue to learn all functions of the job.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree with preference in Supply Chain management, Finance and/or Logistics. In lieu of degree, 5 or more years of equivalent experience will be accepted.
3 to 5 years’ experience in logistics, transportation, warehouse, customs, international trade, manufacturing, and/or distribution.
Range of pay $70,000 – $75,000. Plus, annual bonus.
