Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Family Law Paralegal to join our legal team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in family law, possess excellent organizational skills, and be proficient in document management systems. This role is crucial in supporting attorneys with various tasks related to family law cases, ensuring that all documentation is accurate and timely.
Responsibilities
Assist attorneys in preparing legal documents related to family law cases, including divorce petitions, custody agreements, and support orders.
Conduct thorough document reviews to ensure compliance with legal standards and accuracy.
Manage case files using document management systems such as my case.
Transcribe legal documents and correspondence as needed.
Organize and maintain case files, ensuring all documents are easily accessible and up-to-date.
Communicate with clients to gather necessary information and provide updates on case progress.
Support the attorneys during court proceedings by preparing exhibits and other necessary materials.
Assist with administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, managing calendars, and filing documents.
Handle client calls and new client paperwork -scheduling and calendar management.
Skills
Strong knowledge of family law principles and procedures.
Excellent transcribing skills for accurate documentation of legal proceedings.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously.
Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy in document preparation and review.
Effective communication skills for client interaction and collaboration with attorneys.
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
