Job Purpose
The Senior Licensing Approvals Specialist is responsible for supporting in the overall establishment and maintenance of licensing and qualification requirements and procedures within the Licensing Department. This role involves assisting in processing licensing requests, conducting initial reviews of applications, and ensuring the completeness of required documents.
Key Responsibilities and Activities
Operations Management :
Implementation of the Division’s policies, regulations, procedures, and controls so that all relevant procedural/ legislative requirements are met while delivering high-quality and cost-effective results.
Licensing Requests :
Support in the establishment and maintenance of licensing and qualification requirements and procedures.
Assist in processing licensing and qualification requests, including conducting reviews of applications and performing due diligence.
Assist in the issuance, renewal, or termination of licenses to practice insurance activities.
Follow up with applicants on any missing requirements or documents.
Contribute to monitoring licensed and qualified entities for ongoing compliance with regulatory requirements.
Identify and address any compliance issues that may impact licensing status.
Assist in evaluating and studying requests related to governance and ownership.
Contribute to maintaining comprehensive records of all licensed and qualified entities.
Perform other activities as and when required.
Qualifications and Requirements
Knowledge and Experience :
3 years or more of relevant experience in Insurance Management or Licensing.
Previous experience in government sector or regulatory bodies is preferred.
Education and Certifications :
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Law, Finance, Insurance, Risk Management, Engineering or a related field.
Relevant Insurance certification (e.g., CIC, CISR, AFSB) is preferred.
