FULL TIME PARALEGAL

Stanfield Bechtel Law, LLC is a small law firm which values its relationships with its clients and employees and strives to find solutions. The firm focuses in a variety of practice areas including personal injury, employment law, professional malpractice, social security disability, probate, commercial litigation and appellate law within a friendly working environment. The firm is seeking a skilled paralegal to join our team, preferably with experience in all aspects of civil litigation, and specifically with regard to personal injury and employment law. Experience in probate and appellate practice is a plus. Strong communication, organizational and computer skills, and working knowledge of Microsoft Office are required.
Job Description
We are seeking a full time paralegal (35-40 hours acceptable to us). The ideal candidate will be someone with self- initiative who is proactive, a very good communicator and who has solid computer skills. We are a team and need a team player who is organized, pays attention to detail and has experience in our areas of practice. Qualified candidates must be proficient in the Microsoft Office Suite, Windows and related legal software. Clio is a plus. A qualified candidate must be in Connecticut and have Connecticut experience working as a paralegal at a law firm. A qualified candidate must be able to:
Draft correspondence
Create and maintain organized case files
Create and maintain diaries for files and all aspects of files
Assist in drafting pleadings and discovery documents
Obtain medical records and other discovery production
Organize and electronically file pleadings
Assist in preparing cases for all aspects of discovery, mediation and trial
Communicate with current and potential clients
Good organizational skills to order and index all aspects of files and cases
Good analytical skills
Good interpersonal skills to interface with clients
Qualifications
Associate’s degree and/or Paralegal Certificate and/or experience working as a paralegal in a law firm in Connecticut
4+ years as a litigation paralegal
Familiarity with Connecticut Superior Court required; Federal Court and appellate procedures a plus
Knowledge of Microsoft Office, Adobe
Must have a “team-player” mentality
Strong attention to detail
High organizational and time management skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Salary is commensurate with experience.
