Unit Purpose:

Assist the Senior Legal Counsel to manage all day-to-day advisories and legal risk in all the enquiries and advisory related matters in relation to Advisory Unit activities in accordance with Emirates Islamic – Legal policies and procedures. The role holder should be able to work autonomously but should seek the Senior Legal Counsel input on unusual situations, complex matters and issues which may pose significant legal, financial and/or reputational risk to EI. Provides legal services for consistent and effective legal management across the Emirates Islamic Business Units, branches, and subsidiaries.

Key Responsibilities:

Provides legal advice(s) and support to the business while keeping in mind EI strategic and business objectives.

Provide direction and guidance to facilitate EI compliance with all applicable international and domestic laws, rules, and regulations.

Collaborates with Senior Legal Counsel and internal stakeholders to establish, disseminate and implement EI legal policies.

Completes legal tasks, assignments and projects in timely and effective manner, and respond to legal queries/advice(s) assigned by the Senior Legal Counsel.

Supports EI subsidiaries and branches by providing general legal oversight on legal matters and risks associated with Branches enquiries, Advisory Unit.

Assist and handle Drafts, reviews and negotiate contracts and other legal documents in order to maximize EI legal protections whilst simultaneously minimizing legal risks.

Produces and regularly updates standardized legal agreements, contracts and standard terms and conditions for EI in compliance.

Conducting legal research and due diligence on all the assigned matters and subjects by the Senior Legal Counsel.

About YOU:

Bachelor’s degree in law, with 1 – 3 years of experience.

Strong English and Arabi communication and drafting skills.

Familiar with UAE laws and regulations is preferred.

General knowledge on banking products and services.

Problem solving, Decision making & Negotiation skills.
