JOB SUMMARY
To provide legal support to the Group’s divisions and subsidiaries by conducting research, drafting and reviewing of legal documents, with the aim of safeguarding the Group’s business interests and ensuring due compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Conduct legal research and provide findings to support legal advisory for the Group’s business units, ensuring all contracts, policies and rules comply with applicable laws, regulations and standards.
2. Draft and review agreements, terms and conditions, and legal documents to meet the Group’s business needs.
3. To participate in various types of negotiation and provide legal input as and when required.
4. Identify legal and commercial issues in documents and escalate findings with recommended courses of action to superior.
5. Monitor legal and regulatory developments relating to the Group’s business and keep the functional heads informed of changes affecting its operations.
6. Liaise and correspond with external parties, including regulatory authorities, on legal and regulatory matters relating to the Group’s business.
7. Assist superior to provide guidance on legal implications to functional heads that may arise from time to time.
8. Support the resolution and settlement of disputes, where applicable.
9. Provide general legal administrative and clerical support.
10. Undertake ad-hoc assignments as directed by superior from time to time.
JOB REQUIREMENT (SKILLS)
1. Working knowledge of contract law principles and experience (including internship exposure) in drafting, reviewing, or commenting on agreements.
2. Good command of written and spoken English and Bahasa Malaysia; ability to draft and communicate in both languages is required.
3. Ability to conduct thorough legal research using primary and secondary sources, and to present findings in a clear, concise manner.
4. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word & PowerPoint).
5. Familiarity with Malaysian regulatory frameworks relevant to the Group’s industry, including but not limited to the Communications and Multimedia Act 1998 and Personal Data Protection Act 2010.

QUALIFICATION
1. Possess an undergraduate degree in Law (LLB) or equivalent from a recognised university.
2. Minimum two (2) year of legal experience in an in-house role, preferably within a corporate environment.
3. Exposure to legal work related to telecommunications, fintech, IT procurement or software services is an added advantage.
