Position: Senior Legal Counsel – Motor Finance & Consumer Credit (Interim – 3 Months | 5+ PQE)
Client
We are working with a leading player in the UK’s automotive finance sector who are seeking a Senior Legal Counsel to join on a 3-month interim basis. This is an exciting opportunity for a commercially minded lawyer to support a high-performing legal team with a strong focus on motor finance and consumer credit. The role is available immediately and offers remote flexibility, with occasional travel to offices in South West England.
Key Responsibilities
Provide legal advice on a wide range of consumer credit and motor finance matters
Support on legal aspects of new products, commercial strategy, and regulatory obligations
Advise internal stakeholders, including senior management, with clear and pragmatic legal guidance
Collaborate with the Head of Legal and wider teams to manage legal risk and ensure compliance
Contribute to operational and process improvements within a fast-paced business environment
About You
Qualified solicitor (England & Wales) with 5+ years’ PQE
Strong knowledge of consumer credit law and motor finance (essential)
Previous experience working in-house within financial services or automotive sectors preferred
Confident communicator with strong stakeholder engagement and commercial awareness
Able to hit the ground running – ideally immediately available or on a short notice period
