Fizzy Bubbly is growing internationally, and we’re looking for a proactive and commercially minded Senior Legal Counsel /Legal Consuel to join our expanding legal team in Malta.
The level of the position will be determined based on the successful candidate’s experience and expertise.
This is an opportunity to work across a broad range of corporate, commercial, licensing, regulatory, compliance, intellectual property, and data protection matters. You’ll collaborate closely with internal stakeholders, external counsel, advisors, and regulators across multiple jurisdictions, helping the business remain compliant while supporting its strategic growth.
Your role at a glance
Your responsibilities will span corporate and commercial matters, contracts, licensing and regulatory affairs, compliance and risk, intellectual property and data protection, dispute management, and legal operations and internal support.
- Support corporate transactions, restructurings, share transfers, cross-border group structures, regulatory filings, corporate governance, ongoing statutory compliance, and the preparation of board and shareholder documentation
- Draft, review, and negotiate a broad range of commercial agreements, including game aggregation, software licence, vendor and supplier, employment, non-disclosure, intercompany, and data processing agreements
- Provide practical, commercially focused advice on contractual obligations, legal risks, and appropriate solutions, while developing and maintaining contract templates, internal policies, and contracting procedures
- Support gaming licence applications, ongoing licence maintenance, renewals, regulatory reporting, and compliance across multiple jurisdictions, including the company’s entry into and operation within new regulated markets
- Monitor developments in online gaming and gambling legislation, assess their impact on the business, and liaise with regulators, external legal counsel, advisors, and other relevant third parties
- Support KYC and AML procedures, including the onboarding and review of operators, partners, suppliers, and other counterparties; conduct legal and commercial risk assessments; and assist with improving internal compliance policies, controls, and processes
- Manage trademark applications, registrations, and renewals in coordination with external IP counsel, and support compliance with the GDPR and other applicable data protection legislation, including the preparation and review of DPAs, privacy policies, notices, and related documentation
- Assist with pre-litigation matters and commercial disputes, support the enforcement and protection of contractual rights, advise on legal exposure and resolution strategies, and coordinate with external counsel when required
- Educate and train internal teams on relevant legal, contractual, regulatory, and compliance matters, while maintaining accurate, complete, and accessible contract repositories, corporate records, licensing documentation, and other legal files
- Handle ad hoc legal matters as they arise within a fast-paced and evolving international environment
