Title: Senior Legal Counsel (Insurance) – New Opportunity

Key Responsibilities:
- Handle insurance licensing applications and ongoing compliance matters for the company and intermediaries.
- Act as a key contact with the Insurance Authority (IA) and other regulators.
- Provide legal advice on agency and distribution matters, including agency agreements, commission structures, conduct issues, and partnership arrangements.
- Draft, review, and negotiate commercial contracts, distribution agreements, service contracts, and reinsurance treaties.
- Support new product development, digital initiatives, and business expansion projects with pragmatic legal solutions.
- Advise on regulatory changes and assist in implementing compliance requirements, including AML/CTF.
- Collaborate with business teams and other functions to deliver timely, commercial legal support.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Qualified solicitor with a current practicing certificate in Hong Kong or a recognized common law jurisdiction.
- Minimum 6–10 years post-qualification experience (PQE), with solid insurance regulatory and commercial legal background.
- Life insurance experience is preferred. Candidates with strong experience in General Insurance (GI) or Reinsurance will also be considered.
- Experience in handling licensing applications and regulatory liaison with the IA is highly advantageous.
- Candidates from law firms with a focus on the insurance sector are welcome, as are in-house talents from insurance companies.
- Strong commercial mindset with the ability to partner effectively with business stakeholders.
- Excellent command of written and spoken English and Chinese (Cantonese & Mandarin).
- Stable career track record with good communication and negotiation skills.
