About the Role
Reporting to the General Counsel, you will play a key role in the delivery of high quality legal services across a broad range of practice areas including property, trusts, civil litigation, commercial contracts and governance. The position works closely with internal stakeholders, agencies and external legal providers to support governance, compliance and operational needs. Key responsibilities include:
- Provide timely, accurate and practical legal advice supporting operations, governance and compliance;
- Draft, review and negotiate commercial contracts and assist with policy development
- Support the management and resolution of litigation, including factual and historical investigations
- Build and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external legal advisers
- Contribute to legal administrative functions, including databases, templates and precedents
- Work collaboratively across regions and departments
- Uphold high professional, ethical and safeguarding standards
About You
You will be a capable, organised and values driven legal professional who excels in managing diverse matters and providing clear, pragmatic advice. You will bring:
- Admission as a solicitor in Victoria, with at least 7+ years experience gained in private practice, in-house or government;
- Experience in one or more: commercial law, contracts, property, trusts, statutory interpretation and application, insurance, privacy and personal injury;
- Strong legal drafting and analytical skills
- Current Victorian practising certificate
