Yandex is looking for a strategic and technically skilled Senior Legal Counsel to support its portfolio of high-tech products and B2C platforms. The role centers on the MENA region and involves cross-border legal work across global markets.
Tasks that await you
Providing strategic legal support
You will act as the primary legal advisor for a portfolio of innovative high-tech products and B2C services, guiding them through development, launch, and international operations
Advising on multi-jurisdictional matters
You will provide expert legal support across jurisdictions, with a focus on the MENA region and regular involvement in global legal initiatives
Drafting and negotiating complex agreements
You will draft, review, and negotiate sophisticated technology-related contracts, including SaaS, licensing, cloud infrastructure, data processing, and digital content deals
Managing legal workstreams
You will lead legal work across multi-disciplinary, cross-border projects, aligning with business strategy and helping mitigate legal risks
Ensuring regulatory and compliance alignment
You will advise on legal and regulatory matters, offering practical, business-oriented guidance to product, engineering, operations, and marketing teams
Communicating legal insights to stakeholders
You will clearly explain legal risks and recommendations to non-legal stakeholders to facilitate informed decision-making across the business
We expect that you
Have 8+ years of post-qualification experience
Are admitted to practice in a common law jurisdiction (England & Wales, U.S., Canada, Australia, or New Zealand), and hold an LLB or equivalent degree from a reputable university
Possess exceptional contract drafting and negotiation skills, with a strong ability to simplify legal complexity for business needs
Have experience advising on legal and regulatory frameworks in the GCC region and handling cross-border legal matters
Demonstrate strong communication, stakeholder management, and project leadership skills
Are highly organized, able to prioritize tasks, and manage multiple deadlines
Are fluent in English (fluency in Arabic, Spanish, or Russian is a strong plus)
