Position Summary

Under the direction of the Birmingham Records Information Manager, the File Clerk will prepare files and labeling under established departmental guidelines.

Essential Functions

Using prescribed methods, organize, catalogue, inventory and store documents in the appropriate folders and files and or boxes.
Scan documents for electronic storage as appropriate.
Prepare and box documents for offsite storage.
Prepare documents for Shred on premise and work with vendor for pick-ups.
Assist Legal Assistants with file staging both in the workspace and sending to Records Department.
Print labels for files in various stages of the intake or off-site processes.

Job Requirements:

Requirements

Education:

High school diploma.

Experience:

1-2 years of legal records experience, preferred.

Skills

Proficient in Microsoft Office.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Accuracy, attention to detail and good organizational skills required.
Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
Strong time-management skills and ability to multi-task.
Strong client service focus and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Self-motivation and ability to work with minimal supervision.
Various physical activities may be required, including lifting and moving boxes up to 50 pounds.
