As Senior Legal Counsel, you will be our go-to expert on all legal matters related to our business in Brazil. You’ll work closely with our General Manager and regulatory stakeholders to navigate the complex legal landscape of the payments industry.
This Is What You Will Do
Providing strategic legal advice on regulatory compliance, commercial agreements, and corporate governance.
Ensuring compliance with Brazilian financial regulations, including those governing payment institutions, electronic money, and Pix.
Managing relationships with regulators such as Banco Central do Brasil (BACEN) and other relevant authorities.
Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating contracts with partners, clients and service providers.
leading legal risk assessments and implementing policies to safeguard the company’s interest.
Supporting internal teams on legal matters related to product development, data privacy, and consumer protection.
Overseeing dispute resolution and litigation processes, when necessary.
Managing external legal counsel and advising on corporate structuring as needed.

What We’re Looking For
We’re seeking someone with a strong legal background in the payments sector, who understands the regulatory nuances of financial services in Brazil and can confidently lead our legal function. Ideally, you have:
5+ years of qualified legal experience, with at least 3+ years in the payments industry, preferably within a payment institution operating under the electronic money modality.
Deep knowledge of BACEN regulations, Pix framework, AML laws, and data privacy (LGPD). Knowledge of the regulations governing Brazil’s fixed-odds betting is a plus.
Experience in contract negotiation, regulatory interactions, and corporate governance.
Ability to balance legal risk with business opportunities in a fast-paced environment, rather than focusing only on risk elimination.
Fluent Portuguese and English (both written and spoken).
A proactive, solution-oriented mindset with excellent communication skills.
