An exceptional opportunity has arisen for a commercially minded lawyer to step into a senior legal leadership position with one of Ireland’s largest and most recognisable international organisations.
This is a genuinely broad role, sitting at the heart of a large, fast-moving business and working closely with senior leadership across Ireland.

The opportunity
Reporting into the Director of Legal & Compliance, you’ll lead and develop the Legal Services team while acting as a key legal business partner across the organisation.
The role combines leadership, commercial legal work and strategic input, while remaining hands-on and close to the day-to-day business.
You’ll have responsibility for:
- Leading, mentoring and developing a legal team
- Acting as a senior legal adviser to stakeholders across the business
- Providing pragmatic commercial advice across purchasing, real estate & construction, procurement, marketing and company law
- Taking ownership of a broad range of commercial contracts, from drafting and review through to complex negotiations
- Developing and improving legal templates, contracts and internal standards
- Identifying opportunities to use AI and technology to improve legal processes and efficiency
- Supporting wider strategic initiatives across the Legal & Compliance function
- Representing the organisation in court proceedings where appropriate
Who could be a strong fit?
I’m particularly interested in speaking with Irish-qualified solicitors or barristers with circa 3–5 years’ PQE who have built strong commercial experience and are ready for a role with considerably more ownership, visibility and leadership responsibility.
In-house commercial experience would be particularly attractive, although strong private practice lawyers with the right commercial mindset should also be of interest.
You’ll ideally bring:
- Strong commercial contracts experience
- Excellent commercial judgement and stakeholder management skills
- The ability to translate legal issues into clear, practical business advice
- A hands-on approach – comfortable moving between strategic projects and day-to-day legal matters
- Previous leadership or people-management exposure would be a significant advantage
- Retail/FMCG and/or Northern Ireland exposure would be beneficial, but isn’t essential
