Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced and highly competent Senior Legal Associate / Advocate with 10+ years of professional experience to join our legal team. The ideal candidate will possess extensive expertise in legal drafting, litigation management, legal research, client advisory, and court procedures. This role requires strong leadership, strategic thinking, and the ability to independently manage complex cases while ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory standards.

The candidate will be responsible for handling end-to-end case management, supervising legal operations, conducting legal audits, maintaining client communication, and representing the firm in various legal matters including immigration, employment, divorce, bankruptcy, and other civil/legal proceedings.

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Conduct legal audits for branches/departments as and when required.
  • Draft, review, and vet legal notices, agreements, pleadings, affidavits, petitions, applications, contracts, briefs, and other legal documents.
  • Perform extensive legal research and provide strategic legal opinions on complex matters.
  • Manage and audit firm cases daily to ensure procedural accuracy and timely progress.
  • Supervise and maintain case files, ensuring all client information and legal records are updated accurately in the case management system and physical files.
  • Handle complete case lifecycle management from client intake to closure, including filing, hearings, and documentation.
  • Analyse case documents and prepare applications, briefs, petitions, and pleadings for filing before appropriate courts, tribunals, and government agencies.
  • Represent clients before courts, tribunals, quasi-judicial authorities, and other legal forums whenever required.
  • Prepare clients thoroughly before hearings, interviews, and legal proceedings.
  • Ensure compliance with legal procedures, court deadlines, filing requirements, and internal audit processes.
  • Conduct client review meetings and maintain proper legal documentation and records.
  • Coordinate and communicate effectively with clients, counsels, witnesses, government authorities, and court officials.
  • Follow up with USCIS/Courts/government departments regarding pending matters and submissions.
  • Assist junior associates and caseworkers in legal documentation, case preparation, and procedural guidance.
  • Review and monitor pending cases to ensure timely filing, updates, and resolution.
  • Perform case management software testing and ensure smooth legal operations.
  • Update audit sheets, compliance trackers, and reporting documents within defined timelines.
  • Attend and contribute to branch meetings, legal strategy discussions, and management reviews.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality and adhere to the Firm’s policies, including compliance with Data Protection regulations.
  • Respond to immigration and visa-related queries within stipulated timelines while ensuring submission deadline compliance.
  • Open and close firm cases in accordance with internal legal and compliance procedures.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Law (LLB) from a recognized institution; LLM preferred.
  • Minimum 7 years of experience as an Advocate/Legal Associate in litigation, corporate law, immigration law, or related legal practice.
  • Strong knowledge of court procedures, legal drafting, compliance, and litigation management.
  • Excellent drafting, analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple complex cases independently.
  • Proficiency in legal research tools and case management software.
  • Strong organizational and leadership abilities.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines.
  • Excellent client-handling and stakeholder management skills.

Preferred Experience:

  • Experience in Immigration Law, Employment Law, Divorce Matters, Bankruptcy Cases, and Civil Litigation.
  • Prior experience handling legal audits and compliance management.
  • Court appearance and litigation handling experience preferred.
  • Experience managing and mentoring junior legal staff/team members.
