Are you an experienced Family Law Legal Assistant looking to join a highly regarded Australian private practice known for its supportive culture and strong reputation in the market?

This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated Legal Assistant who enjoys working in a collaborative environment and wants to support leading lawyers within a well-established Family & Relationship Law team. You will play a key role in ensuring the smooth running of the practice while contributing to the delivery of exceptional client service.

Who will they be supporting? You will support a team of highly respected Family Lawyers who specialise in a broad range of matters including property and financial settlements, parenting disputes, financial agreements, de facto relationships and complex family law matters.

Your day to day responsibilities will be

  • Diary and inbox management for multiple fee earners
  • Liaising with clients, courts, barristers and external parties
  • Preparing, formatting and proof-reading legal documents and correspondence
  • Drafting basic correspondence and assisting with court documentation
  • Preparing briefs to Counsel and compiling annexures
  • Filing and serving court documents
  • Conducting property and ASIC searches
  • Managing electronic files and document systems
  • Transcribing dictation and assisting with administrative support tasks
  • General practice support including time recording, archiving and file management

Do you have the following skillset?

  • 4+ years’ experience as a Legal Assistant within Family Law
  • Strong knowledge of legal administrative processes within a law firm environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities
  • High attention to detail and ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Advanced skills across the Microsoft Office Suite
  • A proactive, team-focused approach and a genuine passion for providing exceptional support
