About the Role

As a Senior Advisor, you will play a pivotal role in managing and delivering solutions for complex information access matters, including legislative compliance and high-stakes document management. Reporting to the Associate Director, you will provide expertise in statutory interpretation, policy advisory, and stakeholder engagement to drive outcomes. Your contribution will enhance strategic projects and optimise governance frameworks across the organisation. Must have experience in GIPA Act & SO52.

Key Responsibilities

Manage and oversee information access requests under applicable legislation.

Develop and implement strategies for compliance with investigative processes.

Draft, review, and finalize administrative decisions, ensuring statutory timelines are met.

Provide high-quality legal research and advice on a broad range of issues.

Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including legal and oversight bodies.

Support the creation of precedents and knowledge-sharing materials.

Lead strategic initiatives related to governance and regulatory obligations.

Actively contribute to team projects within the broader legal and advisory division.

About You

Qualifications & Experience: Hold tertiary or postgraduate qualifications in law, political science, or a related discipline, or demonstrate equivalent experience.

Expertise: Proven experience in information access management and legislative interpretation, particularly under relevant laws.

Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with eDiscovery technologies and the ability to navigate governance frameworks.

Skills: Strong organizational, communication, and negotiation skills, with the ability to deliver under pressure.

Adaptability: Demonstrated capacity to manage priorities in dynamic, high-volume environments.

Compliance: Possess valid working rights in Australia (citizenship, PR, or long-term visa required). Sponsorship is not provided.
