Job Objectives:
This role involves demonstrating expertise and high level of technical competence in a specified area of technology from qualification/ technology industry experience and develop the technical expertise of the team, help the team with technical supervision on the specific technology and project guidance, have excellent knowledge of US & EP & Other patent laws and deliver work without any supervision & implement the work around or new solutions to increase portfolio quality.
Job Responsibilities:
Perform all patent preparation/drafting related tasks independently with high level of expertise (Inventor Interview, Drafting complete specification with claims, and Preparing high quality patent drawings)
Perform other patent portfolio development projects such as drafting office action responses, claims review and analysis, invention disclosure review and analysis etc. independently with high level of expertise
Provide direction and guidance to the team members to ensure impeccable accuracy in all drafts
Lead patent assignments requiring high level of proficiency and judgment for one or more customers.
Functional Knowledge:
Organizational skills and ability to complete projects including anticipating problems and addressing them in a timely manner necessary
Ability to create processes and templates and adapt to attorney/customer’s preferences as per patent practice standards
Excellent communication skills (written and oral) are required. The person needs to be very organized and must be detail oriented.
Knowledge of US/EP/IN patent law is desirable (e.g. claim construction, patent eligible subject matter, relevant sections of patent law, case laws pertaining to patentability)
Technology domain: Telecommunications, semiconductor design and fabrication, enterprise software, consumer electronics, robotics, electro-mechanical
Experience:
We are hiring for multiple positions, looking for 6-14 years of patent engineering experience with at least 2 years of prior experience in drafting patent applications and/or office action responses (US/EP)
Should have drafted at least 40 non-provisional patent applications for filing at USPTO/EPO/IPO
Should have drafted at least 75 office action responses of patent applications for filing at USPTO/EPO/IPO
Education:
Bachelor or Master’s degree in engineering (ECE/CS/IT/ELE)
Diploma or other courses in Intellectual Property
