Position Summary:
The Senior Lead Counsel for Strategic Initiatives will drive litigation policy strategy internally and externally for Walmart’s litigation team.
What you’ll do:
• Develop and implement Walmart’s litigation policy strategy.
• Develop short-term and long-term public policy and litigation strategies.
• Work with internal stakeholders such as Corporate Affairs to direct strategic legal initiatives.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for external stakeholders regarding litigation policy.
• Supervise in-house lawyer(s) assigned to litigation policy.
• Educate internal clients and external stakeholders on a range of federal and state legal policy issues.
What you’ll bring:
• Experience as legal counsel in-house, at a non-profit, or at a federal or state government agency with experience in developing and implementing legal policy strategies.
• An understanding of litigation and public policy factors affecting the litigation environment.
• Significant experience leading complex strategic initiatives involving many different internal and external stakeholders.
• Experience managing a team, including
cross-functional teams

• Strong written and verbal
communication skills
.

Minimum Qualifications:
• Law degree from an accredited law school and 7 years’ experience in law.
• License to practice law in at least one state.
• 4 years’ experience leading
cross-functional teams
