Job Title: Principal Lawyer / Director (Unrestricted Practising Certificate) – Victoria
Location: Truganina, Victoria — Full‑time
About us:
Growing Victorian law firm seeking an experienced Principal Lawyer to lead practice operations, drive business growth and maintain high professional standards.
Key responsibilities:
- Lead and manage legal team; supervise solicitors and support staff
- Provide high‑level legal advice and run complex matters across litigation, family, criminal and commercial files as required
- Appear in Victorian courts and tribunals; lead advocacy and negotiations
- Oversee practice management: billing, risk & compliance, PII, file reviews and CPD
Requirements:
- Admitted solicitor in Australia with an unrestricted practising certificate valid in Victoria (mandatory)
- Minimum 3+ years post‑admission experience with proven senior litigation/practice‑management background
- Strong leadership, commercial acumen, advocacy, drafting and client‑management skills
- Clean professional/character record and eligibility for professional indemnity insurance
- Right to work in Australia and available to be based in Truganina
