Job Description and Qualifications:

Our firm is seeking an experienced removal defense Senior Paralegal with a strong interest in supporting a high-quality, client-focused environment. The candidate must have strong organizational skills, be detail-oriented, and be able to work independently.

Job Duties:

  • Assist attorneys in preparing and filing applications, motions, briefs, and supporting documents for cases before the Immigration Court and Board of Immigration Appeals (BIA).
  • Prepare and file asylum, cancellation of removal, adjustment of status, and other forms of relief before EOIR, ensuring compliance with court-specific filing requirements and deadlines.
  • Draft and assemble individual hearing-related filings, including witness lists, exhibit indices, pre-hearing statements, and supporting evidence for merits and bond hearings.
  • Monitor and manage Immigration Court hearing schedules, filing deadlines, and briefing calendars using the EOIR Automated Case Information System and internal case management tools.
  • Coordinate with clients and their families to gather declarations, country condition evidence, supporting documentation, and other materials required for case preparation.
  • Conduct country condition and legal research to support claims for relief, including compiling reports, news articles, and expert resources relevant to asylum, withholding of removal, and Convention Against Torture cases.
  • File motions to change venue, continue hearings, reopen or reconsider cases, and other procedural filings with the Immigration Court and BIA as directed by attorneys.
  • Communicate with the Immigration Court, DHS Office of Chief Counsel, USCIS, and other government agencies regarding case status and hearing logistics.
  • Maintain organized paper and electronic case files, ensuring all filings, correspondence, court notices, and evidence are accurately logged and readily accessible.

Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor’s Degree or Paralegal Certificate
  • Strong verbal, written, and communication skills
  • Exceptional organizational skills
  • Self-motivation/ truly “owns” their cases
  • At least 5 years of experience as an immigration law paralegal focusing on removal defense in Immigration Court
  • Excpetional references

Pay: $28.00 – $35.00 per hour
