Job description

We are seeking an attentive, detail-oriented individual who will be responsible for conducting thorough research and analysis on medical topics, evaluating the medical aspects of legal cases, and reviewing medical records.

Our company, Spectrum Medical Evaluators, is a new and rapidly growing company that offers a range of support services to physicians to help them grow and manage their QME practices. As a consultant, you would be responsible for the following:

Duties:

Conduct medical and healthcare research.
Learn and adapt to basic medical terminology.
Assess medical aspects of legal cases.
Examine and interpret medical records.
Create reports and summaries of medical data.
Collaborate with medical and legal experts.
Observe professional and ethical principles.
Review medical records, documents, and evidence related to Med-Legal Reports.
Analyze and interpret complex medical information and data.

Ideal candidates will have time management skills, critical analysis skills, the ability to stay organized and focused, knowledge of Google Suite and Microsoft Office software, basic computer skills, expertise in medical record review, and exceptional skills in communicating clearly & effectively, both verbally and in writing.

Skills:

Experience: Proven experience navigating in a dynamic environment, ideally within medical, workers’ compensation, or related fields.
Interpersonal Skills: Ability to resolve conflicts and build strong relationships across internal teams and with diverse external parties.
Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with professionals from various backgrounds.
Adaptability: Thrive in a fast-paced, evolving industry, with the flexibility to prioritize and manage multiple responsibilities.
Preferred Skills: Prior experience in medical or legal settings is advantageous. Bilingual proficiency is desirable but not mandatory.
Strong knowledge of medical terminology, procedures, and practices.
Excellent analytical and critical thinking skills.
Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Preferred but not required:

Experience as a consultant, especially med-legal/QME impairment ratings.
Education, especially in communication, writing, business, or marketing
Previous experience working as an educator, in the medical, legal, or research fields
Knowledge regarding the workers’ compensation industry
