Duties
Provide legal counsel to clients on their rights and represent them in legal proceedings
Draft legal documents and motions pertinent to each case
Attend pretrial hearings and advise clients on optimal strategies after each session
Represent clients in court appearances, conduct trials, and present evidence
Perform in-depth legal research and analyze case precedents to anticipate possible outcomes
Collaborate with legal assistants and fellow attorneys on case strategy and workload management
Gather and analyze evidence to strengthen the client’s defense or refute prosecution charges
Prepare clients for depositions and gather supporting information from witnesses and experts
Requirements
A minimum of 4-5 years of Criminal Defense experience
Proven experience handling complex criminal cases at federal, state, and local levels
Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Ability to work as part of a team, with a strong focus on collaboration and strategic planning
Education
Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school
Active and valid license to practice law in California
Certifications
Licensed to practice law in the state of California
Skills
