Responsibilities include:
Providing strategic advice on privacy and data protection laws (GDPR, CCPA, CPRA, and others)
Collaborating with Privacy, Cybersecurity, and Compliance teams to develop policies and standards
Monitoring legal developments and communicating updates
Drafting and negotiating data processing agreements and privacy-related contracts
Partnering with Product, IT, and Marketing teams on privacy risks and incident response
Training business teams on compliance and best practices
Leading privacy impact assessments and supporting audits
Qualifications:
Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school; active bar membership in at least one U.S. jurisdiction
5+ years of legal experience, focusing on privacy, data protection, and technology matters; in-house experience preferred
Deep knowledge of privacy laws and regulations (GDPR, CCPA, CPRA, etc.)
Understanding of data governance and emerging technologies like generative AI
Proven ability to manage complex projects and provide pragmatic legal advice
