JOB DESCRIPTION

TITLE: ADMINISTRATOR ON SPECIAL ASSIGNMENT

PRIMARY FUNCTION:
At the direction of the administration, will provide support in the coordination and
implementation of the instructional program at the school or district level.

QUALIFICATIONS and WORKING CONDITIONS:
Hold or be eligible for a Postgraduate Professional License with an endorsement as a
principal or Administration/Supervision K-12;
K-12 school administration experience preferred;
Demonstrates professional and personal characteristics necessary for working
effectively with students, parents, school personnel, and members of the community;
Demonstrated leadership;
Ability to travel to more than one work location in the course of the day;
Possesses high moral standards and integrity;
Competent in the use of instructional technology hardware and software;
Frequent walking, standing, stopping, lifting up to 60 pounds may be required; and
It is anticipated that some stress will be associated with this position. It is necessary that
the individual have the capacity to remain calm, considerate, and tactful.

REPORTS TO:
Superintendent or Superintendent’s Designee

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Provide leadership with division transition support;
2. Provide oversight of all secondary testing;
3. Provide oversight of all secondary required reporting;
4. Assist with the division accountability needs;
5. Provide oversight of the analysis of student achievement data;
6. Provide oversight of the development and publication of the division handbook for
parents and students;

7. Comply with school and School Board policy and regulations;
8. Work cooperatively with the total staff;
9. Relate positively to parents and other community representatives;
10. Demonstrate professional growth;
11. Be prompt and accurate with required reports and records;
12. Provide leadership in implementing building-level and district-level strategic
initiatives;
13. Participate in, plan and conduct trainings, in-services, workshops and meetings
as related to the special assignment; serve on a variety of district and community
committees and task forces as assigned;
14. Attends division and/or building level meetings as requested;
15. Collect and compile data required for the preparation of reports;
16. Make recommendations to administrators regarding the special assignment;
17. Demonstrate command of Standard English, both spoken and written;
18. Practice and promote positive interaction with and among students; and
19. Perform other duties as assigned by the Superintendent.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
Twelve-month contract, exempted FLSA status. Salary will be established
annually by the School Board.
Up to a five-year assignment.

EVALUATION:
Performance on this job will be evaluated in accordance with School Board
Policy and administrative regulations and evaluation of personnel.
