Job Description
Sandisk is looking to appoint an experienced lawyer (10+ years post qualification experience) with broad legal experience to join its APAC Legal Team. This role will be supporting the Sandisk business including Operations, Engineering, HR, Site Management, Finance, Logistics, Sales and Marketing.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
Works closely with management in China and across APAC as a trusted advisor and partner.
Integrates into the business as a strategic business partner and provides legal guidance in the context of the business to achieve the Company’s goals.
Serves as a point of contact and manager for a variety of legal matters in China, including sales and marketing, employment, and litigation.
Coordinates and collaborates with appropriate legal department members globally to assess and manage legal matters in a consistent manner.
Manages responses to subpoenas and other forms of legal process.
Manages litigations in coordination with U.S. litigation team.
Supports local investigations, in coordination with HR and the Ethics and Compliance team.
Researches and analyzes legal and business issues, obtains input from appropriate stakeholders, and recommends courses of action to be taken.
Identifies potential legal issues and risks related to business practices and policies of assigned client groups; works with supervisor to propose solutions to affected client groups.
Articulates to client groups the legal risks and benefits of a proposed course of action to help guide decision-makers to the best decision for the Company.
Negotiates, reviews and drafts agreements; seeks input from supervisor on novel issues and on issues requiring departure from standard terms.
Analyses contract language and provides advice on contract interpretation.
Works professionally and productively with outside counsel to maximize the value of counsel’s input and minimize outside counsel fees.
Participates in cross-functional teams, offering advice on legal and business issues as appropriate.
Works with supervisor to develop and review internal policies and compliance procedures.
Qualifications
REQUIRED:
Minimum 3 Years Of Relevant Working Experience.
Minimum of 5 years post qualification experience (LLB/LLM) as a commercial lawyer.
Experience of working for a global company (either in house or as a client).
Previous in-house experience (including secondments).
Experience working with a legal firm or in-house legal team in semiconductor industry.
