Position: Senior Counsel for Commercial Banking

Reporting to the Senior Director, Legal, you will support commercial banking initiatives with your expertise in complex legal issues, commercial real estate, and risk management. This role suits proactive legal advisors who can effectively collaborate within cross-functional teams, driving compliance and integrity in all transactions.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide legal analysis and support for commercial transactions
• Assist teams with deal structuring and intercreditor arrangements
• Deliver timely responses to stakeholders’ legal inquiries
• Participate in policy development to enhance legal awareness
• Research legal issues affecting banking operations
Requirements:
• L.L.B. or J.D. degree from a recognized law school
• Ontario Bar membership in good standing
• 4-6 years in commercial banking or financial services
• Strong knowledge of Canadian banking laws
• Excellent drafting and negotiation skills
