Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced Partner or Senior Corporate Attorney to lead and expand SJKP’s Corporate Practice in the United States. This leadership position is ideal for an attorney with significant experience managing sophisticated corporate transactions, leading legal teams, developing client relationships, and driving business growth.
The successful candidate will play a key role in establishing and managing the Firm’s U.S. corporate practice, expanding relationships with multinational companies and overseas investors, mentoring attorneys, and supporting the Firm’s continued international expansion.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the Firm’s Corporate Practice, including supervising attorneys, developing the practice group, establishing efficient workflows, and overseeing strategic initiatives.
- Drive business development by originating new matters, expanding client relationships, and building a sustainable corporate client base in the United States.
- Advise domestic and international clients on mergers and acquisitions (M&A), investments, financing, corporate governance, regulatory compliance, and complex commercial transactions.
- Draft, review, and negotiate sophisticated commercial agreements and cross-border transaction documents.
- Support multinational companies and overseas investors entering the U.S. and Korean markets.
- Work closely with the Firm’s Korea headquarters and global strategy team to execute the Firm’s long-term international growth strategy.
Required Qualifications
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an ABA-accredited law school
- Licensed and in good standing to practice law in Washington, D.C. Admission to multiple U.S. jurisdictions is strongly preferred, particularly New York, New Jersey, California, Pennsylvania, Massachusetts, Georgia, Minnesota, Nevada, Texas or Arizona.
- Minimum 5 years (associate-level candidates) and minimum 15 years (leadership-level candidates) of substantial experience in corporate transactions, cross-border matters, or related commercial practice.
- Demonstrated success leading legal teams, managing attorneys, supervising complex matters, and developing business.
- Experience managing a practice group, office, or branch of a large law firm is strongly preferred.
- Strong experience in M&A, commercial contracts, investments, financing, corporate governance, and regulatory compliance.
- Exceptional drafting, negotiation, research, and client management skills.
- Demonstrated ability to attract and maintain corporate clients and generate new business opportunities.
Preferred Skills and Experiences
- Prior full-time experience with an AmLaw 100 firm or a Fortune 500 listed company.
- Previous experience serving as Practice Group Leader, Office Managing Partner, Department Chair, or similar leadership position.
- Experience in Clio or similar practice management systems.
- Ability to operate with discretion in highly confidential and reputationally sensitive matters.
- Strong adaptability and willingness to work within a dynamic international organization while collaborating closely with the Firm’s headquarters and leadership.
- Fluency in Korean is highly desired.
Initial Training & Onboarding
Attorneys hired for our U.S. offices will initially work for one week at the U.S. office, followed by approximately one week of short-term training at our headquarters in Korea. After completing the training, attorneys will return to the U.S. office and continue their regular duties.

Salary information: $100,000~$500,000
Compensation is commensurate with experience and responsibilities. General salary guidelines are as follows (adjustments based on skills, experience and performance):
- Senior Leadership / Practice Head (15+ years): $300,000~
- Experienced Corporate Attorney: $200,000~
- Entry-Level Corporate Attorney: $100,000~

For senior and partner-level candidates, compensation will also take into consideration the candidate’s existing client base and relationships, portable book of business, demonstrated ability to originate and bring new matters to the firm, and ability to effectively handle and resolve client matters. Candidates who demonstrate significant business-generation capabilities and value to the firm may receive compensation above the general salary guidelines.
