Summary:
This position is responsible for providing legal advice, and guidance to the organization on a wide range of legal matters. This includes advising on regulatory compliance, contract negotiations, litigation, employment and labor law, real estate, and other legal issues that may arise in the operation of an airport. Reports to the Chief Legal Officer.
Essential Functions:
· Provides legal counsel and guidance to the organization on a wide range of legal matters.
· Reviews and negotiates contracts, agreements, and leases.
· Advises on regulatory compliance and ensures the organization operates within legal frameworks.
· Conducts legal research and stays up to date on industry regulations and changes in the law.
· Collaborates with other departments within the organization to understand their legal needs and provide strategic guidance.
· Develops and implements policies and procedures to minimize legal risks and ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
· Manages relationships with external stakeholders, such as government agencies, industry associations, and external legal counsel.
· Stays current on industry trends and developments that may impact the organization’s legal obligations and operations.
· Participates in strategic planning and decision-making processes to ensure legal compliance and protection of the organization’s interests.
· Oversees governance matters and corporate record keeping.
· Works closely with the Chief Legal Officer on ongoing issues.
· Executes any other duties assigned by the Supervisor.
Qualification Requirements:
· Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
· Admitted to practice of law in Puerto Rico (in good standing).
· 5-10 years of experience practicing law.
Required Skills/Abilities:
· Fluent in Spanish and English, both written and oral.
· Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office.
· Ability to adapt easily to change.
· Ability to maintain confidential data and protect the organization’s sensitive information.
· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to apply legal principles to practical business situations.
· Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
· High ethical standards and a commitment to maintaining confidentiality and protecting the organization’s interests.

· Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment.
