Senior Attorney – Family Law Jobs in Columbia, SC at Blood Law PLLC
We are looking for a responsible Legal Assistant to perform a variety of administrative and clerical tasks. Duties of the Legal Assistant include providing support to our attorney(s) and assisting in daily office needs and managing our company’s general administrative activities.
Legal Assistant responsibilities include being the first point of contact for current and potential clients ensuring the efficient and accurate calendaring of client meetings for the attorney(s), emailing follow up information and confirmations of appointments including clients intake sheets and calendar invites, scanning documents; correspondence with legal insurance; obtaining basic client information and explaining the standard procedures to clients.
Legal Assistant responsibilities may also include data entry of client information for drafting of legal documents; drafting deeds from lawyer templates; and other estate planning documents such as durable power of attorney and advanced health care directive.
This role also includes mail outs to the county recorder and supporting paralegal(s) with mail out notices for trust administration.
The ideal candidate should have excellent oral and written communication skills and be able to organize their work using tools. If you have previous experience as a secretary or executive administrative assistant and familiarity within our legal industry of estate planning, we’d like to meet you.
Ultimately, a successful Legal Assistant should ensure the efficient and smooth day-to-day operation of our office.
Monday – Friday 9:00 am to 3:00 pm
Notary public preferred
Those interested in the field of law preferred – this office runs a mentorship program into law school
Responsibilities
Organize and schedule appointments
Write and distribute email, correspondence memos, letters and forms
Assist in the preparation of estate planning documents
Order office supplies and research new deals and suppliers
Maintain contact lists
Provide exceptional support to visitors
Act as the point of contact for internal and external clients
Skills
Proven experience as an administrative assistant or office admin assistant
Knowledge of office management systems and procedures
Working knowledge of office equipment, like printers and scanners
Proficiency in MS Office
Excellent time management skills and the ability to prioritize work
Attention to detail and problem solving skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task
High School degree; additional qualification as an Administrative assistant or Secretary will be a plus
