Position Summary
Senior Attorney – Defense Litigation
Location: Dallas, Texas
Our client, a highly respected and established litigation firm in Dallas, is actively seeking a seasoned Defense Litigation Attorney to join its growing team. This is an outstanding opportunity for an experienced litigator who is looking for a sophisticated practice environment, meaningful autonomy, and the ability to handle complex, high-exposure matters with a high level of client interaction and strategic responsibility.

The ideal candidate will have 7+ years of defense litigation experience, preferably within insurance defense, and will thrive in a fast-paced environment that values accountability, responsiveness, and high-quality legal work.
This role offers the opportunity to independently manage a diverse caseload while serving as a trusted advisor to clients throughout all stages of litigation. The successful candidate will possess strong analytical and negotiation skills, excellent written and verbal communication abilities, and the confidence to evaluate risk exposure and develop effective litigation strategies.
Key Responsibilities
- Independently manage a full caseload of defense litigation matters from inception through resolution
- Conduct written discovery, take and defend depositions, and manage all aspects of case development
- Draft, argue, and respond to substantive motions and legal pleadings
- Attend court hearings, mediations, and settlement conferences
- Evaluate liability, damages, and overall case exposure to develop strategic recommendations
- Analyze settlement opportunities and verdict potential to advise clients on litigation strategy
- Provide timely, thorough reporting in compliance with detailed client guidelines and carrier expectations
- Maintain strong client relationships through proactive communication and exceptional legal service
Qualifications
- Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school
- Active Texas bar license in good standing
- Minimum of 7 years of defense litigation experience; insurance defense experience strongly preferred
- Strong litigation, case management, and analytical skills
- Ability to work independently while effectively managing competing priorities and deadlines
- Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal abilities
- Trial experience is highly preferred, though not required
