Children’s Legal Services attorneys advocate for the safety, well-being, and permanency of Florida’s abused, abandoned, and neglected children. With a team of more than 300 attorneys, CLS leads in dependency advocacy at each stage of a Chapter 39 proceeding.
A CLS attorney primarily manages multiple cases, ensuring compliance with Florida and federal legal requirements to secure safe and permanent homes for dependent children. They collaborate with investigators and case managers to gather evidence, prepare witnesses for trial, and employ best practice litigation techniques to lead the nation in dependency advocacy.
Qualifications:
Law Degree
Minimum of 2 years bar admission
Training Provided:
Multi-week onboarding program by a dedicated Statewide Training Team
Quarterly intensive multi-day New Attorney Training on litigation tactics
Annual Advanced Litigation Academy focusing on evidence techniques, expert witnesses, and advocacy through technology
All CLE requirements met through webinars and live trainings on relevant topics

Compensation:
The annual base salary for a full-time permanent position is $69,000. Total compensation, including benefits, is valued at a minimum of $95,318, with actual amounts varying based on insurance and retirement choices.
