The successful candidate will work closely with market-leading practitioners across multiple jurisdictions on complex international commercial and investment treaty arbitrations involving multinational parties, sovereign states, and major global corporations.
The Opportunity
You will play a central role in managing and advancing high-value arbitration matters from inception through to hearing and enforcement stages. The position offers significant responsibility, direct client exposure, and the opportunity to contribute strategically to cases at the highest level of international dispute resolution.
The firm operates with a lean structure, enabling associates to work directly alongside partners while developing their own profile within the international arbitration community.
Key Responsibilities
- Working closely with partners and wider case teams to develop case strategy and legal theories
- Taking a leading role in drafting written submissions, memorials, procedural applications, and other advocacy materials
- Supervising and mentoring junior lawyers within arbitration teams
- Managing complex legal research and large-scale document review exercises
- Assisting with the preparation and examination of witness and expert evidence
- Coordinating with clients, experts, witnesses, tribunals, and opposing counsel across multiple jurisdictions
- Supporting hearing preparation and advocacy strategy in international proceedings
- Contributing to business development initiatives and thought leadership within the arbitration sector
Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate will possess:
- A minimum of 6 years’ experience in international commercial arbitration and/or investment treaty arbitration
- Experience acting on high-value, complex cross-border disputes
- Excellent academic credentials
- Full professional fluency in both English and Spanish
- Strong drafting and advocacy capabilities
- Experience working in an international law firm, specialist disputes practice, or leading arbitration boutique
- Familiarity with Latin American administrative law or regulatory regimes would be advantageous
- Additional language capabilities would be viewed favourably
