The firm advises states, state entities, and private clients in complex cross-border disputes under the principal arbitral regimes, including ICC, ICSID, LCIA, AAA, DIAC, SCCA, QICCA, ArbitrateAD and CRCICA, and is regularly involved in landmark commercial and investment arbitrations arising out of the region.
THE OPPORTUNITY
The International Arbitration practice is seeking to strengthen its team with the appointment of a Senior Associate. The successful candidate will work directly with the firm’s partners on the full lifecycle of arbitral proceedings, including case strategy, drafting of pleadings, memorials, and procedural submissions, witness and expert evidence, and hearing preparation and advocacy. The role carries significant client-facing responsibility and includes the supervision and mentoring of junior lawyers, with a clear path for continued professional development within the practice.
CANDIDATE PROFILE
- Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Law from a reputable university
- Graduation from a French Section is an asset
- Master’s degree in Law is highly desirable
- Registration with the Egyptian Bar Association
- Around 7 years of post-qualification legal experience in both corporate and arbitration work
- Solid experience in arbitration proceedings (institutional and/or ad hoc) is essential
- Strong background in corporate and commercial matters (e.g. contracts, transactions, corporate governance)
- Previous experience at a reputable law firm is required
- Excellent drafting and communication skills in both English and Arabic
- Fluency in French is a strong plus
