Pay Range: $68,000 – $133,000
Note: Individuals typically begin between the minimum to middle of the pay range
The Senior Analyst, Strategic Contract Management position is responsible for working with internal and external stakeholders to oversee the strategic vendor contracting, governance and oversight activities for HMSA’s Strategic Vendor Portfolio.
As a member of the Vendor Contract Management team, the Senior Analyst, is responsible for all contract management lifecycle tasks for strategic vendors, which includes activities such as proof of concept, requests for proposal (RFP), legal review, contract execution, and updates to vendor and contract data in technical systems as part of the activities and goals of the Vendor Management Office (VMO). This role is responsible for the oversight and governance of the contract post signature, is the SME of the contract and able to answer questions from stakeholders that help drive decision making and business process.
This position will require analytical capability to assess detailed contract documents, ability to industry policies and regulations, and communication skills to present to a cross functional audience including executive leadership.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree and five years of related experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience in understanding vendor contracts and contractual law principles and practices
Contract administration experience.
Strong interpersonal skills and verbal/written communication.
Strong project management discipline and knowledge of project management tools/processes.
Strong relationship building and leadership experience.
Possess professional tact dealing with vendors, and internal stakeholders.
Proficiency in issues identification, analysis, and interpretation.
Familiar with standard contract clauses.
Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including but not limited to Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Duties and Responsibilities
Vendor Management and Oversight
Analyzing Contract Terms: Identifying risk/opportunities within contract terms; conducting risk assessments.
Drafting and Reviewing Contracts: Ensuring accuracy of contracts, compliant with relevant laws/regulations/policies, negotiating contracts (amendments, renewals, terminations), etc.
Process improvement: Developing or implement policies/procedures for more efficient contract management processes.
Acts as the contract SME to the business and organization when needed.
Administration of Strategic Vendor Contracts
Reporting
Ensures the department and organization have an accurate and up to date understanding of how vendors in the strategic portfolio are performing to their contract.
Perform all other miscellaneous responsibilities and duties as assigned or directed.
