Description of Duties
Responsible for working with consultants to search public records for the title and owner of property and easements in order to determine the legal condition of the property. Ensures that the Corporation adheres to all policies and procedures regarding legal Right-of-Way to ensure corporate and regulatory compliance. Acts as a liaison between corporate management and property owners regarding contract details related to right-of-way. Responsible for monitoring the Corporation’s properties to ensure that no other building or properties disturb the corporate right-of-way. Meets with management regularly to report on matters related to right-of-way and then relays information back to property owners and/or businesses regarding pending matters. Participates in job-specific training and other various required corporate training programs. Complies with federal and state regulations and all established corporate policies and procedures. Other duties as may be required.
Job Requirements
A self-starting individual who possesses a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in business or a related discipline and at least 2 years prior experience working with right-of-way and titles. Relevant on the job work experience may be substituted for the degree requirement. Must possess a current Texas Driver License be insurable by the Corporation’s insurance underwriter. Knowledge of all current laws and regulations regarding easements, right-of-way, and titles is necessary. PC literacy and knowledge of spreadsheet and word processing software are required. Must have demonstrated problem solving skills. Flexibility, professionalism, ability to work in a highly stressful environment, and perform a variety of tasks with numerous interruptions is essential. Attention to detail and a high degree of mental concentration are required. Good organizational, interpersonal and communications (oral and written) skills are required in order to effectively communicate with employees, management, and the board of directors is required. Must be fluent in both English and Spanish in order to effectively communicate with property owners and customers. Problem solving and the ability to prioritize tasks are essential. Must be able to occasionally lift/move up to 50 lbs., and frequently lift/move up to 25 lbs. Position requires the employee to travel to various worksites to review right of way and easement issues on a daily basis. Must be fluent (verbal and written) in English.
Preferences
Five years prior relevant work experience is preferred. Licensure with TCEQ is preferred.
