Overview
Remote Legal Assistant / Entry-Level Paralegal Jobs in Florida at The Rossi Law Firm, P.A.
Rossi Law Firm, P.A. is seeking a highly organized, dependable, and personable Legal Assistant / Entry-Level Paralegal to join our growing education law practice.
We are a small law firm representing students, families, educators, and other individuals in education-related matters throughout Florida. Legal experience is not required. We are much more interested in finding the right person: someone who is organized, professional, good with people, comfortable managing multiple tasks, and eager to learn.
This could be an excellent opportunity for someone with prior office, administrative, receptionist, education, customer service, case management, or file management experience who is interested in entering the legal field. Someone who has worked as a law firm receptionist or legal assistant, or who has recently completed a paralegal program, would also be a great fit.
Schedule & Flexibility
This is an hourly, remote position with approximately 20–40 hours available per week, depending on the candidate’s availability and the firm’s needs. We understand that talented people do not always fit into a traditional 9-to-5 schedule, and we are very flexible about when much of the work is completed. Some availability during normal business hours will be necessary for client communications, scheduling, and coordination with the attorneys, but the position does not require a rigid 9-to-5 schedule.
What You’ll Do
Depending on experience, responsibilities may include:
- Assist attorneys with day-to-day case and file management
- Maintain organized electronic client files and case records
- Track deadlines, calendars, follow-ups, and outstanding tasks
- Communicate professionally with clients, schools, attorneys, agencies, and other parties
- Request and organize school, employment, and other records
- Follow up on outstanding records, correspondence, and case-related requests
- Assist with preparing correspondence, forms, and other documents
- Review, label, and organize documents for attorney review
- Maintain accurate case notes and updates in our case management system
- Schedule client calls, meetings, hearings, and appointments
- Assist with client intake and phone calls
- Provide general administrative support to our attorneys
- Take on increasingly substantive legal assistant and paralegal responsibilities as skills develop
Because we are a small firm, everyone pitches in. Some days may involve organizing hundreds of pages of records; another may involve communicating with clients, tracking down documents, scheduling meetings, or helping an attorney prepare a case.
Who We’re Looking For
You may be a great fit if you are:
- Extremely organized and naturally good at keeping track of details
- Dependable and good at following through
- Professional, friendly, and comfortable communicating with people
- A strong written communicator with good grammar and proofreading skills
- Comfortable with computers, electronic files, and learning new software
- Able to manage multiple priorities without losing track of what needs to happen next
- Comfortable working independently from home
- Someone who takes initiative but also knows when to ask a question
- Able to handle confidential and sensitive information appropriately
- Interested in learning and taking on more responsibility over time
Experience & Education
Legal experience is not required.
Some prior professional or office experience is preferred. This might include experience as an:
- Administrative assistant
- Receptionist
- Law firm receptionist
- Legal assistant
- Office assistant or office manager
- Case manager or coordinator
- Customer service professional
A paralegal certificate or degree is welcomed but not required.
We are happy to train the right person.
