Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Legal Assistant to join our legal team in our insurance defense/ medical malpractice group.

This role requires excellent clerical skills in order to support attorneys in their legal work, including organizing and proofing documents and digital files, assisting with communications and calendaring, and performing various administrative tasks to ensure the smooth operation of the legal department.

Responsibilities

Prepare, format, and proofread legal documents.
Organize and review medical records and other case-related documentation.
Assist in the preparation of draft legal documents.
Assist attorneys with case preparation, discovery, and trial support.
Manage schedules, appointments, and deadlines for attorneys.
Coordinate communication between clients, witnesses, experts, and other parties.
Perform clerical duties such as filing, scheduling appointments, and managing correspondence.

Requirements

Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
High level of discretion, integrity and professionalism.
Excellent communication, writing, and organizational skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Skills

Previous experience working as a legal assistant or similar roles, ideally in the medical malpractice or personal injury fields.
Proficiency with case management software (namely, Clio) as well as e-discovery tools, and Microsoft Office Suite.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $52,000.00 – $65,000.00 per year
