Summary
As an Assistant County Attorney in the Felony Division, you will be integral to the prosecution of felony cases, reporting directly to the County Attorney. This role requires strong core skills in legal research, writing, and drafting, utilizing tools like Lexis-Nexis and Westlaw. Your premium skills in negotiation and various areas of law will enhance case strategies, while relevant legal administrative experience will support the division’s operations. Responsibilities
Conduct thorough legal research using Westlaw and Lexis-Nexis to support case preparation.
Draft legal documents and correspondence with precision and clarity.
Negotiate settlements and represent the county in felony cases.
Provide administrative support, ensuring efficient case management.
Collaborate with other attorneys and legal staff to strategize case approaches.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant laws and regulations affecting cases.
Qualifications
Proficient in legal research using Lexis-Nexis and Westlaw
Strong writing and legal drafting skills
Experience in negotiation and legal administrative tasks
Background in law office environments
Familiarity with various areas of law, including family law and personal injury law
Demonstrated ability to conduct thorough legal research and analysis
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $110,000.00 – $114,000.00 per year
