The Need
For over 25 years, IJM has pioneered the work to protect vulnerable people from violence. 9 out of 9 times in the last decade, IJM’s Justice System Strengthening Projects have reduced slavery and violence between 50 and 85% for very large populations of people in poverty. As we grow to expand our impact to protect 500 million people from violence, we are seeking a Regional Legal Affairs Coordinator, South Asia to strengthen legal operations, governance, strategic coordination, and project management while enhancing the efficiency and effectiveness of legal service delivery across South Asia.
The Regional Legal Affairs Coordinator, South Asia will play a critical role in supporting IJM's legal and governance functions by coordinating strategic initiatives, managing legal operations, facilitating executive support, and strengthening collaboration across regional, country, and global stakeholders. This role will help ensure effective legal service delivery through strong project management, operational coordination, and governance support.
The role will support legal operations across South Asia through a hybrid work model.
Responsibilities:
Executive & Strategic Coordination:
- Support the Regional Counsel in coordinating strategic priorities and legal initiatives.
- Manage calendars, meetings, leadership engagements, and regional touchpoints.
- Track key deliverables, action items, and project milestones.
- Prepare presentations, reports, briefing materials, and meeting summaries.
Legal Operations & Governance:
- Maintain legal operational systems, dashboards, and reporting tools.
- Coordinate legal workflows, planning processes, and governance activities.
- Manage legal documentation, policies, knowledge resources, and compliance trackers.
- Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency and collaboration.
Project Management & Reporting:
- Coordinate regional legal projects and cross-functional initiatives.
- Monitor project timelines, milestones, and dependencies.
- Prepare dashboards, metrics, and leadership reports.
- Support implementation of legal technology and process improvements.
Stakeholder & Relationship Management:
- Coordinate engagement with external legal counsel, service providers, and professional associations.
- Support vendor onboarding and relationship management.
- Maintain networks of legal partners across jurisdictions.
- Coordinate workshops, training sessions, and leadership meetings.
Legal Research & Administrative Support:
- Track legal and regulatory developments and prepare concise summaries.
- Maintain legal knowledge resources and monitoring tools.
- Support budget tracking, financial reporting, procurement, and contract administration.
- Prepare administrative reports to support planning and decision-making.
Qualifications
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree from a recognized university.
- Minimum 5 years of experience supporting senior executives, legal leadership, or regional teams.
- Experience in executive coordination, project management, legal operations, or governance support.
- Experience working in multinational or matrixed organizations preferred.
- Exposure to legal, compliance, governance, or corporate environments is desirable.
Technical Competencies:

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- High proficiency in Microsoft 365, SharePoint, Excel, PowerPoint, Smartsheet, and collaboration tools.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining attention to detail.
- Experience creating dashboards, reports, presentations, and leadership communications.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently in dynamic environments.
